b) Parallels indeed. Holy crap, Portland = the same spoiled-brat-consumer-individualism-meets-Peter-Pan complex that is East Vancouver. Makes me half cringe because I can relate on way too many levels, from the behaviour I hate to moments where I was/still am THAT GUY, if only on the inside. Quick, go re-read The Rebel Sell!
